01Context
How do you make a map learning tool that invites children to look, touch, and ask questions? This project turns a map-table idea into a buildable product: an inset display surface, a drawer for teaching aids, and considered timber joints.
02Approach

Designed a 400 × 400 mm table with a map display, timber frame, and compartment drawer for teaching aids.
- 02
Built a 3D model to test proportions, drawer travel, and cable access.
- 03
Produced section drawings A-A/B-B, joint details, and an exploded drawing with a bill of materials.
03Outcome
- A 3D model and two technical sheets: sections and an exploded component drawing.
- Plywood construction with stainless handle and lock, following the drawing's bill of materials.
- A compartment drawer that keeps teaching aids organised.
